Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) Launches Redesigned Website

Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) has launched their newly redesigned website with the help of SoSimple Interactive.
Redesigning the ACES website was a massive undertaking, including a complete navigational and structural change of their existing site, consisting of an agency site, 3 magnet school subsites, 5 special education subsites, an agency intranet, and over 750 pages of total content all built within and managed on SoSimple CMS.
The new homepage features a looping video that ties together some of the many faces of the organization, allowing visitors to gain a sense of the services ACES provides.
SoSimple developed a custom, multi-tiered search function for this new site, allowing users to easily sift through hundreds of pages of content to find the content most relevant to their search.
All 8 schools within the ACES district were created as their own sub-sites, still within the main ACES website. This allows the main navigation for each school sub-site to take over the main navigation of the ACES website. This provides a much better user experience when navigating content within a particular school. Each school sub-site includes a button to return to the full ACES site, allowing the style and functions to flow seamlessly.
Each main section of the site contains an “Overview” landing page, consisting of gridded and picture-guided links to the included sub-sections. Collapsing and Expanding navigation items within these sub-sections allow users to focus on one page or section at a time, making it easier for the user to keep track of where they are in the site.
The blue and green gradient, established in ACES’ newly rebranded print materials, is very prominent throughout the site, seamlessly typing the organization’s web presence with their physical/printed materials.
The new website includes responsive, mobile-optimized design allowing the site to automatically reformat to ensure that content is always displayed in an optimal manner across all viewing platforms - desktop, tablet or mobile.
