City of New Britain Launches Historic Walking Trail Site

November 21st, 2016 by Kristen Yeager

The City of New Britain, CT has recently launched a new website for their Historic Walking Trail with the help of SoSimple Interactive.

The site is very photographically driven, featuring professional images of various locations of the walking trail throughout. Custom built page layouts allow visually stimulating content boxes to be featured in various orders on a single page. The site also includes a free downloadable Walking Trails brochure.

The new Walking Trail site features an interactive map, a new page type on SoSimple CMS. By uploading a map of the Walking Trail area, the client is able to add points to the map representing each stop along the trail. This interactive map allows users to view the locations of trail stops on a map of New Britain, as well as unique photo slideshows for each stop on the trail. Users can also filter the map by categories, in this case by the 3 different colored “Loops” of the walking trail.

The website also features the FAQ page type, as well as a Testimonials page which is fed into a scrolling content box on the website’s homepage.

The new website includes responsive, mobile-optimized design allowing the site to automatically reformat to ensure that content is always displayed in an optimal manner across all viewing platforms - desktop, tablet or mobile.
