The Barkhamsted School Launches Its New Website

The Barkhamsted School, nestled in the Northwest hills of Connecticut, recently launched their new website with the help of SoSimple Interactive.
The school is a learning community serving children ages preschool through grade six and is governed by the Barkhamsted School District. The school was looking to create a new website that would be a center of information for students, parents, and the community. They selected SoSimple Interactive due to our budget-friendly Theme Program while still having access to all the powerful tools integrated into our website and communications platform.
The newly designed website is a comprehensive informational hub for both the school and the school district. Visitors can view the school’s mission and educational approach, curriculum, and Connecticut Core Standards. Parents will find a vast array of downloadable files right at their fingertips, including Parents’ Guide to Student Success sheets for each grade, school policies, forms, and family handbook. Important school and district news is always kept up-to-date including bus routes, events, staff directory, and monthly lunch menus (with online payment link). A Photo Gallery shows vibrant photos of the students and school events sorted by weeks. Parents will also find a convenient link to the school store where they can purchase school-branded items online.
The website also serves the school district as a whole, with an entire section dedicated to the Barkhamsted Board of Education. There, visitors can find Board of Education meeting schedules and agendas, member directory, budget information, contracts, policies, and an area where contractors can bid on upcoming school district projects.
For students and parents on the go, the new website includes a responsive, mobile-optimized design. This allows the site to automatically reformat content to be displayed optimally across all viewing platforms - desktop, tablet or smart phone. The new website also utilizes SoSimple’s Content Management System, allowing The Barkhamsted School to easily self-manage and scale their website, adding new photos, events, news, and more throughout the school year.
